Former Vents

Now, I understand that sometimes people forget to keep in contact with other friends, (heck, I'm very guilty of this myself), but what happens when I try to keep in touch with certain people that I haven't seen or heard from in quite a while?...Let's investigate, shall we?...

Date:August 3, 1999

Activity: Writing an email

People involved: Myself, and the other person who shall remain nameless, (but I'll refer to them as "X").

So, I don't know why, but for some reason I thought of this friend that I hadn't heard from in a long time, so just as a friendly gesture, (of course) I decide to write "X" an e-mail. Now I know that "X" is a very busy person, but just for curiosity's sake, (yes...I know, but forget that stupid cliche), I decide to see if this person has read my e-mail yet. So, I point and click on the status of the mail, and guess what??? "X" has deleted my mail! Hmm...am I a)totally disgusted; b)humiliated; or c)flabbergasted? Well, actually the answer is d)phelgmatic. Yes, at this point I am indifferent, and uncapable of words.

And the Moral of the story is: Friendship is a two-way street. Don't exert your time on someone who isn't worth it to begin with.
