          By ... Steve Lucky

Humility is not a quality that stands out,
Yet it is esential to well being.
More than merely the absence of pride,
It involves a different way of seeing.
By keeping the spirit close to the ground,
One can soar to the highest height.
When not blinded by selfish desires
It is easier to do what is right.
Attracting attention by seeking none,
Distinguishing virtues from vices quite well,
These are things the humble can do
With the simple stories they tell.
Not rejecting their own accomplishments,
They aknowlege them and continue on.
Life is hollow in the past or the future.
We live in the moment and then the moment is gone.
The humble are better prepared for disaster
And also better prepared for success.
With so many things acting upon us,
Where we are headed is anyone's guess.
