Freedom. One word sums it up. Millions of Americans have died for it, many more
will. Jefferson, Washington, Madison, and Henry all spoke of it, vouched for it, and
founded a nation upon its ideals. Now I have but one question, what has happened to it?
Since our 16th president illegally suppressed the willful and sovereign right of the
southern states to secede from the Union, freedom has been forever altered. No longer is
freedom and liberty a personal thing, that must be fought for, achieved and guarded, it
has become something the government controls, disperses at will, and can choose to
protect, or to abolish. What really is freedom? Jefferson and our other forefathers
considered freedom the right of every person, to choose their own path, and to strive for
their own goals, the only restriction being that they did not deprive others of their
freedoms. Our own God and creator spoke of freedom, the gift of free will, the right to
choose our own path, the freedom from sinned found in Jesus, and the freedom of the
Hebrews from slavery. With all of these great people, including the one who created
freedom himself giving us the definition, why do we seek a supposed “democratically”
elected government to tell us what are freedoms are?
Jefferson spoke of inalienable rights, those being life liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. These are rights man was born with, things that only the individual himself
can hold, and never be taken away. Our government does not give us rights, we were
born with them, God’s personal gift. The only purpose our founding fathers saw in
government was to protect these rights. This leads me to the point (I told you there’d be
one!), why, if these rights are ours, not given to us, but ours as part of our life, have we
become a society in which, the majority can strip the freedom and property of others to
uplift themselves? That is the ultimate disease of democracy, people will use their vote to
gain for themselves. Our ancestors did not die for democracy, but for freedom! Which is
far greater and should be cherished more, one can have a society that is a democracy, but
in which every individual is not free, look at the early America’s. An even better
example, Nazi Germany. Adolph Hitler may have been a dictator, but he was
democratically elected, something our own president isn’t even capable of. The United
States president, is elected but electors, not the general public. But democracy is not the
goal, the majority does not rule, freedom rules, it is the ultimate autocrat, the benevolent
dictator. Its power is unsurpassed and guaranteed, as long as the individual fights for it,
then it can never be taken away.
Now onto the worst possible advisory of freedom, socialism. Socialism in effect, is
the embodiment of the stripping away of a man’s freedom. To deny citizens the right to
keep and protect their property, what they worked for and earned, is to strip the most
sacred freedom of all. Our current federal government has begun this great nation down
the long disturbing road towards a socialist, totalitarian nation. This nation may claim the
principles of democracy, but in true they only serve to rob individuals of there earned
wages and freedoms. If we continue to allow this unjust course to continue, we are
simply saying to the millions of young men who have died for our freedom, that we don’t
care. If we allow this to happen, we give up our “inalienable rights”. We shall sacrifice
everything Jefferson, Washington, and our other fore-fathers fought for, and created. We
must give up or pride , our privileges, and our lives to the cause of freedom once more.
The cycle of a nation can now and forever be broken. This cycle is, "From bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, and from dependency back into bondage."If we do not end the path of dependence and loss of freedom, then we shall place the unbearable consequences upon our children. To that, there is however hope, the punishment we shall give our future children and their children will be broken. The human spirit will eventual come back to freedom, however it will not be secured without a cost. And to think, by simply refusing the security, and taking our freedom and the
responsibility it comes with, we can end this vicious, servitude that caused our ancestors to declare their independence.
And if you think I’m finished, your wrong. I will continue to expand on The Articles Of
Freedom . But for the sake of getting my website up, I must put what I have written so far
up.
