The risky Miller is testing Divac The Kings won their first preseason win for the 99-00 season on Saturday. Sacramento overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter and went on a 22-9 run to finish off the game. Second year guard Jason Williams scored 21 points, while Darrick Martin, who will probably back-up Williams at the point guard position, put in 16 points, as Sacramento posted a 96-95 win. Williams had 13 of his 21 in the third quarter, and Martin scored 9 in the fourth. The Kings came through in the clutch moments, making 14-17 free throws last seven minutes. Martin was 7-8 from the free throw line over the last six minutes. Sacramento got the win while stars Chris Webber and Corliss Williamson both sat out, but Scot Pollard stepped up and had a great game, scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 boards. Nick Anderson also helped with the scoring load by chipping in 14 points. Reggie Miller led Indiana (1-1), scoring 18 points, while Rik Smits had 13.
It was a great win for the team, but we must stay focused as we meet the Pacers tomorrow night again.Click Here for complete boxscore of the game.
