Florida Springs

Florida ofers alot of diving opportunities when the weather doesn't cooperate. The springs in Florida have a year round temp of around 68 degrees. The water is generally crystal clear! I dive quite often at Cypress Springs, Morrison Spring, Vortex Springs, Ginnie Springs, Devils Den, Blue Grotto and Peacock. The one thing to always remember when diving the springs is DO NOT DIVE IN CAVES UNLESS PROPERLY TRAINED. A bunch of folks have took dirt naps by "going just a little bit further."

That's me crawling out of a hole!

This photo was taken at the entrance to a little swim thru at Morrison Springs' upper cavern. Note for all you DIR divers out there - I have changed my equipment and configuration since this photo.

My Lovely Wife

Susie's certification trip was at Cypress Springs. Maximum depth about 25' unless you go in the cavern which can be as deep as 60'. Visibility is always 100+. Harold and Linda own the place and are about to open another spring down the road.

Gorilla Diving

Left to right is me, John Nelson and Brent Fisher. They were concluding their NSS-CDS cavern course when we surfaced in this muck! If you look to the right upper corner you will see a small gator sunning on a rock!
