Geography is the study of the earth as the home of man.

IB Geography is divided in two main sections: the core syllabus that all students have to cover, and the higher level extension that only higher level students study.

Core Syllabus

The core syllabus is divided into 5 themes:
  1. Population
  2. Urbanisation
  3. Agriculture
  4. Economic Growth
  5. Natural Hazards

Higher Level Extension

The Higher Level Extension is divided into 3 main sections:
  1. Physical Geography
  2. Topography
  3. Resources
IB Geography students also have to do a specified number of hours of fieldwork on top of their classroom theory.
