Undaground Music
(all bands with an * have song samples at their website)
All these bands kick ass so show your support and visit their websites and buy their CDs. If your wondering why Korn, Deftones, or Limp Bizkit isn't on the list it's because those bands are too big. If you like those bands then i'm sure you'll like the bands on my list. If you don't like the any of the bands on the list please keep it to yourself.
If you know of any cool music groups(local or otherwise)you want to see on this list sign my guest book or e-mail me at hoamtown@hoamtown.com and put the name of the band, their website if they have one, your e-mail address, and a short description of their style. I prefer groups that haven't made it big yet (what's the point in advertising for an already popular band?).
These are some music groups you should check out (in no particular order)
- Mad Cell- a local band from Georgia and friends of mine. A really unique sound mixing elements of techno, metal, and rap and unlike most bands who are in high school this group has talent. I definately reccomend these guys.
DownFall*-A 5 piece band from Virginia Beach, Virginia who's music combines a mix of Hardcore and Jazz music… a very original sound.
Glitch in The System- A band out of Chesapeake, Virginia. Their sound isa heavy but not quite death metal.
- S.Y.G.(Sum Yung Guyz)*-Asian-V-core band out of Atlanta. Probably one of the best bands I've heard in Atlanta. The singing style is sort of hard to describe, somwhere in between Chino Moreno from Deftones and Sonny from P.O.D. The guitarist, bassist, and drummer also definately have their shit together.
- Munkigrip-Munkigrip gives their listeners a new way to experience metal. The guitar and bass “groove” captures the listener and leaves its audience only wanting to hear more. This band cannot be labeled, categorized or duplicated.
- Hostile- Another 5 man band from Georgia. Some of their heavier influences are: Slipknot, System of a Down, Machine Head, Staind, Spineshank, Fear Factory, Heroic Dose, Metallica, Sevendust, (Hed)p.e, and so forth. They literally mix everything thats ever been good about metal, rapcore, heavy MeNtal, aggro, and spook-core. They havent thought of a name for their style yet.
- Point Blank- a 5 man heavy metal band from Georgia. These guys are probably the youngest ones on my site, they're somewhere around 13 years old. Don't let that influence what you think of them though. I saw em at indiefest and they were pretty good.
