Did you know that Connie collects Barbie dolls?

I didn't either but what funners it has been to re-discover my childhood friend as a result of your collection, Connie!  [Also reminds me that I should let my daughter know of the incredible, historical value she inherited from my original Barbie and Ken dolls that she still has!  lol]

I had ever so much fun checking out all kinds of information on Barbie to make this page for you.  Heavens to Betsy -- there is so much out there on the internet related to this doll we could spend the next millenium seeing and reading about them.  I also found out that you are not the only person who collects them.  

Believe it or not, there were Barbie dolls I don't even remember and I thought I knew them all!  *gasp*

The Barbie Story
It all started when Ruth Handler noticed her daughter Barbara playing with paper dolls and imagining them in grown-up roles. Realizing that dolls on the market at the time were all baby dolls, Ruth saw a need for a doll that would inspire little girls to think about what they wanted to be when they grew up.
