We live in Punta Gorda Florida....a real PARADISE.
Dan Was born in Waycross Georgia, the birth place of some famous people, like Pernel Roberts, Burt Reynolds and of course, Dan Coble.I was born and spent most of my life in Kentucky, that is, until I met my Husband Dan. Since then, we've been to lots of wonderful places.
Dan and I lived in Kentucky until 1997, when we had finally had enough of living in a backward HELL on Earth!
Things never went well for us in Kentucky, and as the winter of 1997 set in and the climate turned it's usual nasty-for-months, we got ready for the shiver to set in, when we got a call from family in Waycross Georgia, bragging that it was going to be 80 degrees on Christmas day.
That was IT!..we had all we could stand, and we went to Waycross on Christmas eve 1997, only to find that an un-seasonable cold snap hit the area, and it was freezing there!
Nevertheless, we fell in love with Waycross. The people all drive by and wave, (using all of their fingers), the banks all have barbeque grills somewhere on the premises, in fact people are so serious about cooking out and barbeque, that most people's barbeque grills are on wheels and have a trailer hitch, a lot like their HOUSES!
The cost of living is low, and there WERE advantages to being close to the BEACH!, So next thing you know, Ol' Jed loaded up the truck, and there we were!....Then in February of 2000, we moved to Florida, seeking even warmer weather and MORE BEACHES!
Dan is a Disabled Air Force Veteran, who is involved with several Veteran's rights movements, and at the urging of several Veteran's Groups, is considering making a run for President in 2004....Gotta be better than our CURRENT CHOICES!
Dan's group is responsible for recent but short-lived increases the government made to the Veteran's health care and other benefits, but his movement has a long way to go to change THIS Government, as it seems that honesty and HONOR are a thing of the past.
I am a Housewife, and I have worked on and off until just recently, but my biggest job came when our little boy Danny was born in May of 2000. Dan has two children from his first marriage, but Danny is the first for me, and I have never been happier!
Dan's daughters, Lori and Heather, came to live with us 4 years ago, and they are both learning and seeing so much here in Florida...They see Sand Hill Cranes in our front yard, Bald Eagles, Dolphins, Manatees, Green Sea Turtles, Gopher Tortoises, tons of friendly little lizards and all kinds of wildlife they have never seen before!
