Ray of Light

A ray of sunshine beams thru And lights up my life A single candle is burning bright A childs laughter I can hear The brightest star shines as I catch a glimpse And then I ask myself "Why doesn't love make since" As the sun dims I feel a chill A breeze runs thru my body And the candle's flame disappears The laughter turns into a cry And now there are no stars in the sky A dark cloud forms around my heart And once again lonliness sets in I ask myself once more "Why does it have to happen this way again"
