History of the Corps.....
In 1958 at the Georgia Jaycee State Convention in Columbus, a small group of Georgia Jaycees gathered to form a new organization. The goal was to have an organization that would recognize those Georgia Jaycees who had proven themselves to be of high quality, dedication and had made an outstanding contribution to the Georgia Jaycee movement.
Exclusive membership in this organization would reward the members with an honorary lifetime membership in the Georgia Jaycees and to encourage continued support, interest and involvement in their local chapter for years to come. It was agreed that this organization would be known as the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps.
The Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps has evolved from a small group to over 2400 members, known as "Colonels". All these members have taken the oath to serve as a living example of the Jaycee Creed. Our Colonels are available and willing to help the Local, District, Region and State organization in any way they can.
The Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps is the oldest Corps organization in the nation.
