Welcome. The saints at New Hope would like you to know that the Jesus in us loves the Jesus in you. And that makes you easy to love. And we want you to know: THERE IS A MIRACLE WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. IF YOU BELIEVE IT, THEN YOU CAN RECEIVE IT. AMEN.
If you are looking for a church home where you can grow in the Spirit and use the talents that God has given you, this is the church for you. We want you to know that there is not a church, just like our church, anywhere near our church. So then, this must be the church.
We are a small church congregation, but that does not stop us from serving, worshiping, and magnifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We invite you to come out for fun and fellowship while you come out and serve the Lord with us. We know that you will have a good time and enjoy yourself.
Our Pastor and First Lady are the Elder and Mrs. Robert E. Smith Jr. Our church is a member of the Riley F. Williams District under the direction of Superintendent and Senior Administrative Assistant to the Bishop H.G. Ellison. Our District is a member of the Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Northern Georgia, where our Jurisdictional Prelate is the Bishop A. D. Williams.

The History of this ministry, began with the Founder, Elder Gerald Richardson, on November 11, 1986. It began in the home of Pastor Richardson, along with his wife, Mary, Sister Charlotte Morrison, Missionary Carrie Lewis, and their children. The original name was "Realness of God Tabernacle." In that home they held worship services, bible studies, and prayer meetings. It was later renamed "Realness of God Worship Center." This name was selected after Pastor Richardson was led of the Lord to move the saints from the house to 1611 13th Avenue. This occured about October 2, 1987. It was around that time the congregation became a registerd affiliate with the Church of God in Christ, Inc. (COGIC), being under his leadership the church was established, and grew as the Lord added to it being renamed Realness of God COGIC.
About December 1991, Pastor Richardson resigned as pastor, for personal reasons. The Jurisdictional Prelate of Northern Georgia, Bishop J.H. Dell appointed District Superintendent A.D. Williams as Interim Pastor. Under the leadership of District Superintendant (now Bishop) A.D. Williams, the church was reorganized and renamed. Bishop Williams, directed by the Holy Spirit, changed the name to New Hope COGIC. Bishop Williams is a builder and beautifier. The church was already at 2648 Willow Street. He led the way to establishing a greater community presence and attractiveness for New Hope. A uniquely styled sign was erected, with the COGIC Seal. The church underwent several elegant renovations, having glass doors added, with a new brick facing, and a pastor's office with bathroom. All of this while also pastoring in Albany, GA.
Following Superintendent (Bishop) William's interim duty, Bishop J.H. Dell appointed the Elder Oliver Smith as Pastor in August 1992. Elder Oliver Smith was a genuine administrator, and a gifted Leader. The membership increased reaching approximately 50 adults. His ministry attracted many youth and military personnel. However, he as a Captain in the U.S. Army, was ordered overseas in July 1993, vacating the pulpit at New Hope.
In August 1993, the Bishop Adrian D. Williams appointed Elder Robert E. Smith Jr. as the New Pastor. He led the church in eliminating the mortgage. Later a multipurpose building was purchased with a vision for community service. Pastor Smith envisions a fellowship hall, classrooms, and additional office space. We also expect this building to facilitate children's youth ministries. In addition, it would be used to begin programs beneficial to substance abusers and to provide food and clothing banks Other visions include purchasing all property surrounding our current building, along with the house on Radcliff, and establish the "Hope House" providing a nursery and office space. We are also hoping to build a new sanctuary, and develop a Child Learning Center. For several months, New Hope had a radio broadcast, "The Voice of Hope." Pastor R. Smith, Jr. has led the church in spiritual enrichment, by appointing fasts and holding prayer clinics. Pastor Smith is the Voice of Hope, leading New Hope to greater effectiveness for the cause of Christ. We are on the move for Christ!
People are begining to realize, there is Not a church, just like this church, anywhere near this church......so then, THIS MUST BE THE CHURCH!
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
