Now in stores! The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing For Home was released in December of 1999 for the Sony Playstation. As much as I love the Dukes, I can honestly say this game is not up to today's gaming standards. The original release date was supposed to be in April 2000, but the release was rushed to be out before Christmas 1999 so the game didn't turn out very great. And to make matters worse, John didn't do the voice of "Bo"! The graphics were ok on the General Lee, but the cast didn't look real at all. If anything, they looked scary! Before I purchased the game, I rented it and beat it during a rental period so it was obviously an easy game. There was only one "episode" and that was it. Once you beat that and Hazzard County is back to normal(to Hazzard's standards), you are done and the game is put away to collect dust.

Finally, the 2nd Dukes game is out. "Dukes of Hazzard 2: Daisy Dukes It Out" is now available for Playstation 1. But, did it live up to what it was supposed to be? Word was, every aspect of the game would be better. And I must admit, having John's almost makes up for the disapointing 1st game. I haven't purchased the 2nd game yet because I haven't had time. However, I have played it and the graphics didn't improve much at all. With games like Gran Turismo 2 and Resident Evil: Survivor, there's no excuse for poor graphics in The Dukes of Hazzard. It's pretty obvious Playstation and South Peak Interactive didn't have any intention of giving the "Dukes" a chance to make it big. Don't get me wrong, the 1st Dukes game was one of Playstation's greatest hits. But you would think if something could be improved, you would take the time to improve it.

The Dukes Of Hazzard: Racing For Home is now available for PC and GBC(Game Boy Color). I have purchased it for both and the GBC version has impressed me. Not only are the graphics great, but the game is a lot harder than it is on Playstation. As for the PC, I haven't played it yet so I'll have to get back to you on that.

When it gets down to it, these games are great for 3 types of people. 1)People that want a great game for the family. 2)Dukes Of Hazzard fans(obviously). And perhaps the most obvious 3)People that own a Playstation, GBC or PC. Chances are, since you're at my site, you are a fan and this is a great game for you to get. But, if you have no idea what "The Dukes Of Hazzard" is, you might not like the game very much. Keep 'tween the ditches!
