7/7/97 Bad news today! The green-cheeked conures had their nesting box bashed in last nite around 5:30AM and have flown the coop....they are up in the trees in the yard...
7/8/97 Greencheeks on the porch! Put fresh apples and oranges (their favorites) in their cage...the female went right in, the male followed after a bit...we were REALLY worried about them!
7/14/97 Three cockatiel babies...truly UGLY little buggers.
7/30/97 We have a feathered visitor...a lost pigeon has been hanging around...put feed and water in a cage and it went in. Did a websearch on pigeon organizations and found one - emailed them and found out who the owner is....ain't the Internet a wonderful thing? ;)
8/15/97 Working on the new aviary building....much activity on the sweat-pumps...only hit my thumb TWICE with the hammer so far!!!
9/8/97 We are now up to FIVE baby parakeets...guess they figured out what to do!!!
9/9/97 We traded a baby green-cheeked conure for a beautiful pair of lutino cockatiels.
9/10/97 Tis the birthday of "She who MUST be obeyed"....HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZIE!!!! Much LOVE from your hubby!!!
9/18/97 Baby parakeets all OVER the place...10 of them.
9/25/97 Got 7 more parakeets from the flea market...Suzie has taken a liking to them...and the fact that they are good parents...
10/2/97 We have a baby cockatiel whose parents have quit feeding it after a week....nothing like handfeeding a runt!
10/7/97 The dratted BIRD BARN is almost done....another coat of paint on the roof....most all the birds are finally off the porch and into the aviary...
10/12/97 4 cockatiel eggs.....looking forward to seeing the babies, as the mother is a pearl pied.
11/02/97 The bird barn seems to be working OK - no possums, coons, or armadillos have gotten in YET! (crossing fingers)
11/09/97 FINALLY got our breeder pair of Timneh African Grays...Zeus and Pandora! They seem to be settling in nicely.
11/29/97 The parakeets are breeding like crazy - babies all OVER the place!!
12/05/97 We have several nice baby cockatiels now, too - thought they might slow down a bit since it is winter, but evidently not.
12/20/97 No eggs yet from the grays.....guess we will see what spring brings.

1/20/98 It's mighty cold this winter in Georgia...had to get a heater....
3/20/98 The parakeets are breeding like there is no tomorrow...TONS of eggs
4/12/98 LOTS of baby parakeets, including some lovely violet ones
5/2/98 Five baby greencheeked conures are doing QUITE well....
6/26/98 The Timneh African Grey pair has FINALLY figgered out what that big nesting box is for...we have an egg!!!
