Oregon

This was taken in Brookings,Oregon where my mom lives. More about her on the "family" page. Perhaps not the splashiest of sunsets, but still one worth witnessing. When it was only 45 minutes from home I used to chase the sun across the Coastal Range to where they fall into the sea,or better yet when I lived in Lincoln City it was a wonderful part of my day.

This is Multnomah Falls located in the Columbia River Gorge. A couple years after this picture was taken a rock the size of a school bus fell from the upper wall, landing in the pool behind and below the walking bridge see here. It cause such a splash hat water crashed over it causing a grade school age child's broken arm when the force knocked him into the far side of the bridge. Yes beauty can be dangerous, but still..

This is one of the Silver Creek Falls, called the "South Falls" Its the biggest of 7 waterfalls that Silver Creek creates as it drops down through a valley. There is a hiking trail that begins at the "North Falls" and includes all 7. People come from all over the world to see them. If you decide to take the walk make sure you have a day to do it in, a lunch in your pack and a camera in your hand because this truely has to be one of the most beautiful places God ever created.

And finally there's the agriculture. Even farming can be a beautiful site. Oregon grows lots of different kinds of things, but if you chose the right time of year and know the right places, you can see entire hillsides covered in a patchwork design of rainbow colors as the Iris bulbs bloom.
