This is a page dedicated to vampires, not the ones you see in movies, but the REAL thing. I know to some of you I sound like a morbid freak, but I don't care because everyone has the right to have their own opinons about things. I must admit I AM rather odd, and I MAY be a freak, and I may be morbid, but I feel happy with my lifestyle. So now here is some of the things I have learned about vampires.

The word vampire may mean one of the following,

derived from the Turkish word uber, it means witch
derived form the Latin word strix, it means screech owl
the Portugese word is bruxsa, which is translated as a bird woman who sucks the blood out of children.

People from all around the world have their own version of these creatures of the night. Usually, the male vampires are portrayed as good looking gentlemen with dark hair & odd colored eyes (usually light green or blue). The women vampires, or vampyresses are very beautiful and are VERY sensual. Most of the time vampires are portrayed as very handsome or beautiful, but sometimes they are described as hideous, like the Nosferatu, a pointy eared disgusting monster with razor sharp teeth.

Most legends about vampires are absurd, some people actually believe the rumors like:

Vampires will burn if sunlight comes in contact with their skin, therefore they only come out at night.
Vampires hate garlic.
Vampires can only "die" if a stake is driven through the heart and/or they are decapitated.
Ok, this is what I think about those rumors:
- I know many vampires and they are outside in the daylight and it never kills them. Although they can go outside in the day, they usually prefer the night.
- Garlic does stink, but many modern-day vampires like garlic. If you're an Italian vampire, you have no choice...hehe.
- Wouldn't a stake through the heart kill you, too?
