Genesis 4:1 to 4:26

Genesis 4

And the human had experience with Living, his wife; and she conceived, and bore Aquired, a smith, and said, "I have acquired a grown man with Yahweh."
And she further bore his brother Temporary-Son(?). And Temporary-Son(?) was a watcher of sheep, but Aquired was a husbandman.
And in process of time Acquired brought the fruit of the ground as an offering to Yahweh.
And Tempory-Son(?) also brought from the the finest firstlings of his flock. And Yahweh looked with favor upon Temporary-Son(?), and on his offering;
and upon Aquired, and on his offering, he did not look with favor . And Aquired was very angry, and his face fell.
And Yahweh said to Aquired, "Why are you angry, and why is your face fallen?
If you do well, will not your face look up with confidence? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door; and it wants to defeat you, but you must defeat it."
And Aquired spoke to Temporary-Son(?) his brother,"Let us go outside" and so when they were in the field, Aquired rose up against Temporary-Son(?) his brother, and slew him.
And Yahweh said to Aquired, "Where is Temporary-Son(?) your brother?" And he said, "I know not: am I my brother's watcher?"
And he said, "What have you done? Listen! The voice of your brother's blood is calling to me from the ground.
And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
When you till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield you its strength; a wanderer and fugitive shall you be on the earth."
And Aquired said to Yahweh, "My wrong is too great to be forgiven.
Behold, you have driven me this day from the face of the ground, and from your face I shall be hidden; and I shall be a wanderer and fugitive on the earth; and it will come to pass, that any one who finds me will slay me."
And Yahweh said to him, "Therefore, whoever slays Aquired, it shall be revenged sevenfold." And Yahweh set a mark on Aquired, lest any finding him should slay him.
And Aquired went out from the presence of Yahweh, and dwelt in the land of Wandering, toward the east of Pleasant-land.
And Aquired had experience with his wife, and she conceived and bore *Foundation. And he built a city; and he called the name of the city after the name of his son, *Foundation.
And to *Foundation was born City-Boy; and City-Boy sired Struck-By-God; and Struck-by-God sired Man-Of-God; and Man-Of-God sired Wildman(?).
And Wildman took two wives: the name of the one was Dawn*, and the name of the second, Dusk*.
And Dawn* bore Herdsman*(?): he was the ancestor of those who dwell in tents, and breed cattle.
And his brother's name was *Horn: he was the ancestor of those who play the lyre and flute.
And Dusk*, she also bore Tool-Smith, the forger of every kind of tool of brass and iron. And the sister of Tool-Smith was Naamah.
And Wildman said to his wives: "Dawn* and Dusk*, hear my voice, You wives of Wildman, listen to my speech. For I have slain a man for my wound, and a youth for my bruise.
If *Acquired shall be avenged seven-fold; Wildman seventy and seven fold."
And the human had experience with his wife again, and she bore a son, and called his name *Appointed: ... "For Elohim has appointed me another seed instead of Temporary-Son(?), because *Acquired has slain him."
And to *Appointed, to him also was born a son; and he called his name Mortal. Then people began to call on Yahweh by name.
