Rick's ZShell Games Page A-L (M-Z)

This page is devoted to all ZShell games. I know you're asking, "Why does he have ZShell games when the 86's can't run ZShell?" Well, the answer is that they can. You need to get the new OS/Shell, AShell Enhanced 1.3 by Bill Nagel. The shell emulates the ZShell games and can emulate the TI-82 ASH/CRASH games as well (see my ASH games page for those games). All of these games were tested and work for the 86 with the new shell. If you find one that you KNOW works with the 86, then e-mail me with the file attached. Here's the current list.

ZShell/Usgard/OS-85/Rigel/PhatOS Games Compatible With ASE 1.3 A-L (M-Z)

Game Developer Description
All Files all-zshell.zip All files in the ZShell Games Directory
Area 51 Christopher G. Busch Aliens have taken over the military base, Area 51. Your job, if you choose this dangerous mission, is to destroy all the aliens. Shoot first, ask questions later.
Asteroids Jingyang Xu and MRW Try to shoot down all of the asteroids, but don't let them hit you. This is the full BETA version, as the author wants you to pay for the real version.
Avenger Joel Jordan A Galaxian-type game. If you like Galaxian, you'll probably like this. Try to shoot all of the enemies, but don't let them shoot you. Kind of hard to see, so raise the resolution before playing.
Balloon Andreas Ess A GREAT game where you are a balloon trying to get to the end of the level while avoiding enemies, candles, pins, fans, and more. You can gain height with fuel and throw your rubber bands at the bad guys
BlackJack Max Mansour The classic game of Blackjack. Try to get closer to 21 than the dealer, but don't bust or you lose your money.
Bombardment Ed Plese, Jr. An old two-player game of tank shooting. Enter the velocity and speed (taking account for the wind) and try to hit your opponent's ship.
Boneyard Larry Futhey A game just like the old Centepede game, except you are trying to shoot skulls and ghosts. Pretty fun.
Bouncing Ball Not Given Enter a direction (from 1 to 8) and it will send a ball bouncing off the screen. More like a screen saver than a game.
Boxes Georges Esteves A puzzle game exactly like Sokoban where you try to push boxes into their designated areas. Comes with 32 levels, and has a few gameplay options.
Breakdance Mike Hallock Just like Simon, but you try to recall the moves of a little dancing man. Pretty fun to play. See who can remember the most moves!
Super Breakout 5.0 Stephane Jantzen Using a ball and paddle, try to break all of the bricks. Don't let the ball get past your paddle, or else you lose a life.
Chess Fabrice Faure A pretty good chess game that features all the pieces and some different moves. The only downside is that it doesn't know when you cheat, so don't do it :)
Chess85 Lite JL Chess85 Lite is just a simple and small chess game. It isn't that great (this is the author's first asm program), but it works for a chess game, and it only takes about 1K of mem.
Columns 3 Mel Tsai Just about the same as Kollums for the TI-86, which is like Dr. Mario. Just switch falling blocks around to try to match them, but don't let the screen fill up or you lose.
Comrad Lawrence J Futhey A "Commando" clone where you are a soldier cut off from your allies. You have to talk to the enemy to persuade him to back down.
Connect Four Dan Eble The old game where you and your friend alternately drop your checkersinto an area, trying to make four in a row.
Contra Erik Huizing A side-scroller where you are a soldier trying to shoot all of the enimies that you encounter. Has good potential, but only comes with one easy level.
Cubes Stryker A unique puzzle game where you try to turn a 4 x 4 square of blocks to one side. The catch is that when you flip one, all blocks in that row and column are flipped.
Daleks! Andrew L. Warnock Based on the Sci-Fi sitcom, "Dr. Who", you are trying to make the evil race of Daleks crash together into pieces. Comes with 10 levels.
Dice Game Doug Melton A pretty fun game where you roll 2 dice and eliminate their sum from the list of numbers. See how many numbers you get before running out. This game is highly recommended.
Dots Dan Eble A primitive game where you use the number pad to place lines around the dot. Try to make squares, eventyally winning if your friend has less squares than you do.
DrugWars Terry Peng Go around the state wheeling and dealing drugs trying to get as much money as possible. Be careful of cops, and deal well, for you only have 30 days.
DrugWars for Rigel Terry Peng Drug Wars for Rigel 1.0. See above for description.
DStar Andrew Von Dollen Try to collect all of the clear balls in each level by using logical means. Pretty fun to play during that boring math class.
DStar for Usgard Andrew Von Dollen DStar for Usgard. See above for description.
Etch-a-Sketch Carl Turner The old Etch-a-Sketch board where you trace lines to make pictures. The program below is much better than this one, so get that one, unless you have other reasons.
Etch-a-Sketch Plus Wayne Chen A much better version of Etch-a-Sketch, where you start in the middle of the screen, have options to save your pictures, and can shake the picture to clear it, starting over where your last line stopped.
Eye Animation Risto Jarvinen A pair of eyes that you can control. Make them blink one eye, blink both eyes, and make them bloodshot. Pretty fun for a while.
Fighter v.78 Erik Huizing A beta one-on-one fighting game where you are a person with a power meter, and can kick and punch your opponent. In this beta version, there aren't any opponents, though.
Fliptile Jeff Tyrrill The object of each level in Fliptile is to clear a randomly generated grid of tiles that are either empty or filled. A single "flip" inverts the tiles on top of, above, below, to the left of, and to the right of the cursor. When all the tiles are empty, the level is complete.
Fliptile for Usgard Jeff Tyrrill See above for description. Exactly like the ZShell version, but possibly with less bugs since it is a later version.
Formula One Racing Tim FitzRandolph An OK racing game with pretty good graphics. Has a very repetitive track, but is pretty fun to waste a few minutes playing.
Frogger 85 Trent Lillehaugen The classic game of Frogger! Just like the TI-86 version, as you try to move your frog in and out of traffic and over dangerous moving logs. Always fun to play.
Froggies Will Stokes A very simple Tic-Tac-Toe game. Has a small bug that lets X win sometimes when it doesn't have three in a row. I have no idea why this game is called "Froggies".
Galaxian Patrick Davidson You have a small ship and your goal is to destroy evil aliens without getting destroyed yourself. You can destroy them by firing dispruptor blasts at them. You can attempt to prevent your own death by moving out of the path of the enemy's shots.
Galaxian for Usgard Patrick Davidson Galaxian for Usgard. See above for description.
Globe Animation Risto Jarvinen A nice picture of the earth rotating on its axis. You can control the turning speed. Pretty good graphic, although it has no other real use.
Golf Pop's Productions An OK golf game where you use different clubs to get the ball to the hole. It's a bit confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of it after a few tries.
Hexagon David Lenhart A good puzzle game where you try to get more pieces than your opponent, by putting your pieces next to his pieces in a hexagonal shaped playing field.
Hex Fighter Shareware Stephen Friedman This is a great space combat flight simulator. You are in the cockpit of a futuristic fighter plane trying to shoot down the enemy. This is shareware, and the author actually wants $10.50 USD for the complete full version. Not worth the money.
Insane Game Martin Hock The object of Insane Game is to get rid of all the tiles by touching the tiles that are alike. A very popular puzzle game
Invaders Larry Futhey A very choppy game of Space Invaders, where you try to shoot the enemies without letting them get you. Hard to beat due to the choppiness.
Space Invaders David Lenhart The classic arcade game of Space Invaders. Try to shoot all of the ships, but don't let them shoot you!
Ishido Bodo Maass A complex puzzle game where you try to match pieces nest to their adjacent piece and fill up the entire board. Very frustrating and fun when you get the hang of it.
JezzBall Magnus Svedin The goal is to win 75% of the screen; when you manage that you'll advance to the next level. To win space, draw lines and if you manage to make a closed area without any ball in it, you win that area. Fun game and good time-consumer.
Jon Weave Jon Nahil Try to move around the falling columns without hitting them. If they hit you, you die. This is actually what the author calls a "really weak version of Tim FitzRandolph's 'WEAVE'". He made it to basically learn some ASM routines.
Knight S. Jantzen A good puzzle game where you are placing X's on a board, trying to fill it up. The catch is that you can only move in the fashion that a knight does in chess (over 2 and down 1, or combinations like that). Very challenging.
Lights Out Terry Peng Just like the handheld game where you try to push the buttons to make all of the lights go dark. Rather frustrating when you don't know what you're doing.
Look! Andreas Ess A little demo that is just like the "starfield" screen saver for windows, as it looks like you are flying through a field of stars.
Lunar Lander IStar A fun Lunar Lander game. Guide your lunar module down on to a flat area without going to fast, going at a sharp angle, or hitting the jagged rocks.
