Thoroughbreds have been developed to have the strength and agility to gallop over fast courses. In shorter races, TBs can reach 40mph! The TB is the fastest and most valuable of the world's horses and supports a huge, multinational breeding and racing industry. It is also the essential element of the competition horses, and the principal means of improving many other breeds.
The foundation sires of the Thoroughbred were: the Byerley Turk, the Darley Arabian, and the Godolphin Arabian. They, in turn, sired the 4 main TB lines: Herod, Eclipse, Matchem, and Highflyer.
The Thoroughbred is one of the most widely owned and loved breed in CANTER. This registry, the CTBR, is here to promote them. Since CANTER only recently opened up again, the CTBR will be under slight construction. A new wing (the racing wing) is being added, which will be complete with 3 racetracks. Once the tracks are built, the CTBR 2000 Show Season will be under way. (Don't worry, there will be PLENTY of classes besides racing)
