Sight & Sound Sunfire
"Being seen and not heard is not normally a philosophy Sunfire owners adhere to. With that in mind, engineers got together with some of their crazy friends, who just happen to be top automotive suppliers, to develop the Sunfire 'Sight & Sound' project vechile. It incorporates interior and exterior enhancements that are sure to get it and its driver noticed."
The Sight & Sound Sunfire is basically a prototype model for the "Sun & Sound" Sunfire available in the SE coupe models. The Sun & Sound model comes with power sunroof, premium 6 speaker CD sound system along with a few other options.
"The Sight & Sound Sunfire is the first to be painted with PPG's new Glass Bead Blue paint. Silver accents highlight the Sunfire's styling package and a Wings West ground effects package adds to the profile of this sporty Sunfire. It also boasts a Webasto power sunroof. Eighteen-inch open-styled Zo-Ku custom wheels by Enkei Wheel Company are in keeping with the latest 'bigger is better' California trend. The Zo-Ku wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich 215/35ZR18 red-lettered tires with tiny Pontiac "darts" as the tread pattern. These high-performance tires not only improve handling but also create a low-to-the-ground European look. The custom interior of the Sight & Sound Sunfire features multicolor fabric with flame red stitched leather seams for dramatic eye appeal. It also includes vinyl door trim, four-position bucket seats, and front and rear consoles. The sound part of this Sunfire is supplied by a Monsoon sound system that features eight speakers and an eight-channel amplifier with active crossovers that direct low, midrange, and high frequencies to the appropriate speakers. Monsoon adds powerful high-performance audio enjoyment to the driving experience. The 200-watt system floods the interior with sound and provides strong bass performance that lets Sunfire's occupants "feel" the sound. The Monsoon sound system is another example of a project vechile feature that could easily hit the streets as part of a production Sunfire."
Super Street Magazine Sunfire
"While engineers and designers were working on the Sight & Sound Sunfire, Super Street, an enthusiast magazine dedicated to the growing popularity of 'sport compact' cars, decided to see what they could do with a stock Sunfire. In order to demonstrate the ease of a hands-on project, Super Street kept the upgrades and modifications simple. The objective was to show that anyone who owns a Sunfire can install and hit the streets with cutting-edge aftermarket components, regardless of his or her level of technical expertise.
