Developmental Abandonment
Everytime you hear that cry die
It's another time to try to find
a chance to relax
Unrequited love gies you a chance to cry
About you past mistakes
and how you wanted them to last
A sin against more than ascertained
Another could take a life and her pain away
But a voice from heaven tells her there's a better way
To rid herself of this guilt and open up herself again
The grass was always greener on the other side
Wish you could stay in the middle?
At least for a while?
And wonder what it'd be like
to take a step left or right
into the other side
Alone affronted, nothing's left
The load she carries pains her aching back
Sucked dry, her heart, nothing's gone her way
The chastisement of sin, quite a price to pay
No one is left, no one to trust
herself in the least, but that's not saying very much
Soft is the touch of that sacred someone
Love was all she wanted, but all is lost
