To the Batcave!

book and its cover
broken
creation of idealism
opposite of you
wake me up

Book and It's Cover
(Matt 7:1-5)

Judgmental bias based on bitter hate
Pragmatic prejudice determined someone’s fate
A foul word based on feelings toward his scene
Different ministries don’t mean opposing teams
Leave me be if we’re not one team

The splinter in my eye is somehow magnified
By the way I look and the way you try to mold me
’til you’re satisfied

Conform to the world you sat and pointed
The truth is to the world I’m dead
Secularity isn’t measured in the color of my hair
quit staring God doesn’t care
About my clothes or the way I play guitar
on the contrary it’s all in the heart
Let’s get Jesus outside of the church
Oh No! It Hurts Way To Much!

You don’t know me you haven’t met me
Don’t put down the book because of the cover!

Broken
(matt 15:14)

Another son on the street tonight
Another verbal turned physical fight
You sit back drunk and wonder why
The generation x can’t seem to get it right

Baby boomer baby banged hypocritical parents
the kids don’t fall far behind
you’ve got to see what you’re looking at
before you call it blind

I don’t want to sit back tonight
and hear about my best friends fight
With his loving fathers face of
bottled beer and my friends face
Mom left dad just last night
but society seems to think that it’s all right
one in two tend to fall apart
it’s all just selfish and self-serving sin

Creation of Idealism

What’s the point in personality
if it’s bottled up by society
and thrown into a sea of equality
only to end in depravity?
my heart knows surely nothing’s for free a price tag
is stamped on me permanently

Do what you’re told follow the crowd you’ve got
freedom of speech until you talk to loud told what to
do and who to be why live a life lived a thousand
times already?

A casualty of friendly fire force-fed lies from the
start a pawn in the game of psychology played with
greatest expendability

always told to play the cards you’re dealt not sure of
who you were or the way you felt are you content
with all you’ve won and bet even when those
winnings end up turning into debts?

Opposite of You

Zero tolerance for what they aren’t
Crossing lines before they start
A dying cause and I go with it
Benefactor’s goal, but you missed it

Abortion’s on debate and gay rights reinstated the way it was
& the way it should be & students fornicate in the bathrooms
but I better not mention Jesus Christ, go ahead and give me a
reason to fight

I may not be what you wanted me to
A school system full of contradictions, the ism guru
Favoritism to the eye-pleasing crowd
Do they really think we’ll conform without a sound

Student’s cursing all they want & teachers do the same
Playboy stashed in his desk for the fifteen minute break
But I better not dye my hair a shade of blue
That makes me different the opposite of you

I have freedom in Christ to dye my hair and grow a beard but
my first amendment rights somehow disappeared when the
separation of church and state went a bit too far. I can’t
conform to be like you, you do’t even know what you are!

Wake Me UP

call me up, I may be sleeping
wake me up, I may be dreaming
about you but I’d rather talk to you
come see me I may be sitting
come see me I may be thinking
about you but I’d rather talk to you

hold me tight draw me near I can’t seem to think clearly
those quiet times with you and I spoke so much to me a
tender embrace I’m in your arms tell me you’ll never go I
can stand at a distance and still feel you standing next to
me when you take me by the hand I can hardly stand those
times when you’re not by my side tell me you’ll never
leave never leave

if you do decide to let me down and break my heart let me
embrace the pain just tell me when you start do it fast break
it hard and I won’t feel a thing my bloody stains and
memories will wash away with rain

I’ve got nothing to lose nothing to gain but you I’m scared
of me scared of you and what you’ll do there is nothing out
here nothing to fear when I’m with you
