However, if you purchase the items one at a time, the cost is very low. Did you know that a gift of $5 will buy one 2 x 4? Or for $10, you can purchase one sheet of sheetrock, one 2 x 6, one 2 x8, or one 2 x 10.

$20 allows you to get one gallon of paint or one box of nails. A yard of concrete or one interior door can be had for $70.

Newton Habitat's mission is to provide affordable housing for those who are living in substandard housing. Habitat Housing is not free housing. It is made affordable through no interest loans paid by the homeowner. The cost of the house is considerable less because of donations and volunteer labor.
