Is there anything that you were unsure of in the film Tombstone? Anything that you couldn't quite figure out or that didn't really make sense? Well this is the place that you're looking for. This is where the Tombstone clueless get enlightened.
Q1 Does anyone know what Doc said to Kurt before he keels over in a drunken
stupour? It sounds something like........"I'm as white as the milk"
A The line is: "I'm as right as the mail".
Q2 Is it "Huckleberry" or "Hucklebearer"? And what is the
meaning? (posted by Holliday)
Please check out the Huckleberry Page
Q3 one of the names of the actors was "Wyatt Earp", he played a character whose
last name was "Callendar" or something like that. Do you know if this is right?
Is he a descendant?
A: Yes he is related to Wyatt. He'd be a G G G, what ever nephew of Wyatt's (if
I remember rightly). He's related to Wyatt through his sister Adelia, least
I think that's where the connection is.
Paul has e-mailed me with some more info. He says:
A
He auditioned for the movie, Wyatt Earp and Tombstone. He was actually being considered
for the part of Morgan in 'Wyatt Earp'. However, they found out that he was auditoning
for the part in Tombstone. The big honchos on Wyatt Earp were a little annoyed
by the Tombstone production team at the time, trying to 'squash' the Wyatt Earp
movie. The actor, Wyatt Earp, was told that he could only be in one movie and
that if he continued to apply for Tombstone that he would be dropped from the
Wyatt Earp movie. Needless to say he got dropped. As it happened he did get the
role on Tombstone as one of the cowboys "Callender" I think. I still haven't been
able to pick him out in the film yet. He's meant to look VERY like the original
Wyatt ;-)
'In regard to Q4, Wyatt Earp played the part of Billy Claiborne. I,
myself could not pick him out in the movie. As you know, Claiborne was the 5th
cowboy at the shootout, but he escaped out the back of the lot before the shooting
started.
Q6 Near the end of the movie, when doc is about to die, he looks
at his feet and says something like 'isnt that funny'. what am i missing here?
In the movie (Tombstone) this seems to be the character Johnny Barnes instead!
Watch it again and you will see.'
Doc says 'This is funny.' This is actually historically, the last words spoken
by Doc. Well so they say. I think the way they filmed that line is a little
confusing. It looks as if Doc is saying 'This is funny' because the sheets are
too short ;-)However this is not the answer. Doc didn't expect to live his days
through all the gunfights only to die in bed with his boots off. I think Doc's
character is suprised to have lived so long and to end up dying from TB rather
than his drinking and fighting.
Q7 I'd like to know where in the Bible can I find the script that Ringo qoutes at the very start of the movie? It states something about a white pale horse and Death is riding on it.
A: Ringo quotes from Revelation 6 of the book of Revelations.
Q8 What piece is Doc playing in the "Oriental" that is a nocturne by Chopin?
A: Chopin's Noctune #19 in E minor, Opus 72 No. 1.
