Michelle Kwan's Bio

Michelle was born on July 7,1980. Because her brother played ice hockey,she wanted to start skating at the time she was five years old with her sister,Karen. With a box of nerds in her hands, she steps on the ice for the first time. Little Michelle enjoyed it so much that she cant let go of that favorate sport. She had her first competition at age six. Guess what! She won! When the '88 olympics came, she watched with eyes of glittering joy. She wanted to become a Olympic skater. That dream came to Life at Nagano. At 1990 Mr. and Mrs.Kwan hired Coach Frank Carroll to teach Michelle and Karen and then moved to the International Ice Castles Training Center in Lake Arrowhead.Then when Frank Carroll went out of town, Michelle sneaked over to take the senior level test. Even if her coach was mad at her, he was still happy that she past! Michelle finished 9th at junior Nationals but became the youngest to win the U.S Olympic Festival.Then she won two second places in the U.S Nationals till she went to the Worlds and finished a disapointing 4th. Then the "new" Michelle won The Nationals at 1996. That same year, she won the Worlds. But then the little Tara Lipinski went over her in 1997 getting the gold in the Nationals and Worlds. Then the "Comback"Kwan won the 1998 Nationals. But with the triple loop-triple loop combo,Tara Lipinski won the Nagano Olympics. Michelle said"I didn't loose the gold,I won the silver".Then Michelle Won the Worlds after. After that, the greatest rievalry was over when Tara turned pro. Michelle said"I dont want to turn Pro. I love real Competition."
