The Atlanta Airport Repeater Association was created in January of 1973. We all met in the Ground Radio shop at the Delta Jet base and our first president was Carl Parks W4REI whose call sign is on the repeater. The first repeater call sign was WR4ABN and was dropped when the FCC changed the rules. The first repeater was built from a Motorola railroad MOTRAC by Jerry Gilbert K4INU and Bob Birdsong KB4A. The present repeater is a 25 watt General Electric repeater. The present antenna is a Cushcraft Ringo Ranger II.
