How to Know Good From Evil Angels
The Scriptures tell us to test the spirits to see if they are from God. There are a number of criteria to identify God's Angels.
A spirit from God always acknowledges that Jesus is the Christ who came to the world to die for our sin and redeem us.
1 John 4:1-6 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore, they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error."
An angel of God will always glorify God. Holy angels do not draw attention to themselves. They work quietly, most often behind the scenes, then when the work is done, they leave. God's Angels are His servants, and all this attention and emphasis and glory should go to God, not His servants.
Isaiah 42:8 "I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another,"Luke 2:13-14 "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'" Psalms 148:2-6 "Praise Him all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all you stars of light! Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, And you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, For He commanded and they were created. He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away." An angel of God will not accept worship, but will tell you to worship God.
Revelation 19:10 "And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, 'See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
An angel from God will not give you instruction or guidance that deviates from what God has already said in His Word.
Galatians 1:8-9 "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."
An angel of God does not come when we recite a mantra, or empty ceremony, but at the command of God. Jesus prayed to the Father for angels to come to his aid. God commands His Angels directly.
Matthew 26:53, Jesus said, "Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?" Luke 1:19 "And the angel answered and said to him, 'I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings.'" Hebrews 1:14 "Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
God's Angels come as a result of prayer and belief in God.
A simple and powerful way of prayer is:
1. Say Thank You. Be grateful and thankful. Speak to God who sends His angels. "Father I thank you for the angels you have sent before me . . ."
2. Ask. Be specific. 3. Believe. Trust that if what you are asking for is the right thing for you, then it will happen in the right way at the right time. Expect positive results. 4. Let It Happen. Allow God and God's Angels to do Their work.
