This is for a special 12 year old friend:
She asked for a Christmas poem
with Santa and his elves, most know this
is not my normal venue, so lets
see what happens and you be the judge.

"This Gift From Above"

Verse 1
********

Where is it do we now know
it is called by names many
but for most it's the North Pole
marked by a big stick of candy.

 Verse 2
********

Christmas is but a week away
so what do you thing is happening
with so many elves there each day
work, work, play, work slackening.

Verse 3
********

What was that last we heard
work slackening, elves at play
no it cannot be it is absurd
for with only a week to the day.

 Verse 4
********

Yes but it is true sorry to say
with the age of computers
the elves all the games play
while all Santa does is mutters.

Verse 5
********

So what will happen on the day
will Christmas gifts still arrive
boy think of the price to pay
if Santa has no full sleigh to drive.

 Verse 6
********

Now don't you worry at all about this
there is a plan afoot to take care
children on Christmas will see bliss
for the elves decided others will share.

Verse 7
********

Does this mean no new toy to break
or are the older ones good enough
boy if this happens the world will shake
some little children will get mighty tough.

 Verse 8
********

Never fear the elves of Christmas City
each and all of this was planned for
it is all taken care of be virtual reality
so there is no need worry or be sore.

Verse 9
********

The stores are full of everything gift
that is what Santa will bring along
it is meant for everyone life to lift
some will hear it as if in a song.

 Verse 10
********

For the gift from Christmas City
this year will be of another's love
for some this will become reality
the instructions came from above.

Verse 11
********

So what is happening just now
where the elves and Santa play
hearts are being opened to allow
for Christmas now to be everyday.

 Verse 12
********

You see the gift called of love
is inexpensive and non-replaceable
everyone needs a little each day
so make yourself more embraceable.

Verse 13
********

Smile when you see a stranger alone
instead of angry words, talk of kindness
remember no one has a heart of stone
what more than Jesus's love to remind us?

 Verse 14
********

So yes the elves and Santa have off
others will carry this load to us love
some will read all of this and scoff
but remember this gift is from above.
