"To Engage the Enemy"

cji
4/5/99

Verse 1
********

It is not an idle thing
to seek to do battle
within the frame of war,
for many will die
futilely in uselessness.

Verse 2
********

But we have found
the need to seek the enemy
before they find us
and set the snares, traps,
ambuses and attacks.

Verse 3
********

We'd rather not kill at all.
But surrender is difficult
for those who fight today,
as this fight is to the death;
there is no quarter asked.

Verse 4
********

Therefore it will not be given
so that they can regroup
to come and fight another day
and may get lucky just once
thus to strike again to the heart.

Verse 5
********

So as you see this field of death
and feel the enmity of those
who hide in bushes and trees,
know this, you are on one side;
either in the trees or here at rest.

Verse 6
********

In this battle there are only two
from which to choose, no more;
and you will know before the day
of battle is over which side
you are on (Father's or mans) .

Verse 7
********

We've found greatness in the enemy
for Satan has swayed great men
and women to follow him today
thus valiant their struggle to die;
without every knowing the reason why.

Verse 8
********

They chose unwisely in the day
of accountability between the Lord
and man as to who to follow,
thus forever this day it is over;
and so is to live again to chose.

Verse 9
********

Now of course there are those
who sit and ponder pleading
they are trying to understand;
while reading with their eyes closed
the scriptures as they pretend.

Verse 10
********

They too will be counted as one
or the other, but not as we think;
but as the Father will command
and the Prophets of their day;
whose words cannot be withdrawn.

Verse 11
********

So if you fight today with one
whose side are you really on?
For do we really know our hearts
or have we blinded our feelings
to much to even know or care?

Verse 12
********

We'll engage the enemy today,
both sides are saying the same
so when we meet my brother
or sister, how will it be,
with sharp blades or smiles?
