"A Teardrop Fell"

C.J. Ingerson,
10/25/98

Verse 1

It glistened on her cheek
and seemed in time
to just hang suspended
in time and space.

Verse 2
********

For she was a mother,
a sweet daughter of Father
and her loves was endless
as the universe is infinite.

Verse 3
********

Her children she gathers
to hold each by the hand
and place that small hand
into the Master's to hold.

Verse 4
********

She knew each by name
even though she would not
and could not raise them
their life came from her.

Verse 5
********

Each night upon her knees
she sees them as they
might have been, even now
had they stayed even a day.

Verse 6
********

For she was a mother
without her children about
she knew all they needed
was life, then to Father go.

Verse 7
********

Now her life on Earth is long
and she has her work to do
but now and then she remembers
and with a sigh, continues on.

Verse 8
********

Just now the teardrop glistening
upon her cheek, is captured
by her husband's strong hand
who says simply,"I love you."
And Father knows so well
just now, a teardrop fell . . ."
