Single... left home following his high school sophomore year, skipped his
junior year because of superior performance on standardized testing... attended
Spanish River High in Boca Raton, FL in his senior year while training
with the Braves in West Palm Beach... played baseball & basketball in HS...
sister Carla (a mechanical engineer) and brother Jose (a talented ballplayer
in his own right) live in Panama with his parents... Bruce loves
chocolate (especially brownies!)... Greg Maddux is his favorite major
leaguer... the Braves organization's Jason Shiell is his favorite
minor league pitcher to watch... Bruce is a part- time student at
Georgia Tech, going for his degree in civil engineering; he earned a
4.0 GPA in his first semester there.
