1. He's in agreement, with what you are saying- You will not ask amiss, if He is in agreement. James wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:20,21) that , "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that it may consume upon your own lusts."-James 4:3 Dr. Jim Preast said this, "You can't make the wrong decision if you're walking in the Spirit". So we must ask, am I praying this with The Holy Spirit's influence. Keep in mind, He certainly knows what pleases the Lord.
2. It will ultimately promote Jesus- This will certainly help you pray in proper perspective and priority. In other words… If God grants your request, will you use it to His glory? What means more to you? A house, a car, all can be used for His glory, if we want it to. Example: Would you use that car God gave you to bring a sick person to the doctor? Or would you use that house God gave you to help house a missionary while he is home on furlow? Interesting questions, huh? I challenge you to answer them honestly. Maybe it is time some of us stopped, got down on our knees, and dedicated these things back to the Lord.
3. The lost will see Jesus- Again, "Lord, if you grant this request, I promise, somehow the lost will see you in it". How can that be? Tell the lost about the wonderful, longsuffering, charitable Saviour you serve. After all, read verses like Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Revelations 3:20. He started it all. Even the faith we had to accept Him (Ephesians 2:8,9) was given to us by Him. (… and that not of yourselves..) . Listen, we need to proclaim to this world about all His wondrous works. Psalms 105:1-5. Read this, it should be a common practice amongst Christians. We tell the world about good stock tips, good restaurants, good products that you have found, etc… we need to talk less of those things and more of JESUS. The lost will see Jesus through your answered prayers, or do they? Hide it under a bushel, no, I'm gonna let it shine.- Remember that song? Let's get our light out.
4. Your prayer being answered will bring Honor and Glory to our Lord- This is how we should live our lives- Galations 6:14. Mark it down, if God knows His Son will get the glory from your prayer, it pleases Him. Who does your prayer lift up? You or Jesus? Are you thinking of pleasing you or Him? They can be the same. Always turn answered prayers toward the glory of our Savior.
