Normally, I buy my wigs from a local shop, even though I get a catalog from TWC. In July of 1999, I saw a wig in their catalog that I really liked but my local shop didn't have anything similar. So I e-mailed an order to TWC thinking it would take two or three weeks to receive. I have to say that I was totally startled when my order arrived in 4 days by Priority Mail. What I hadn't realized was any order (of an instock item) they receive by 1 PM is shipped the same day. Impressive to say the least! As someone who works in Customer Service, I believe in complimenting good service so I sent them a note telling how delighted I was with the quick delivery and that the wigs I ordered (short & lightweight) were perfect for summer in the south.
Now imagine my suprise when I receive an e-mail from their Customer Service Department in August of 2000 wanting to use my letter and a photo in a new catalog!!!! Hmmm, as Ralph Kramden would have said, "What a revoltin' predicament." I replied telling them that they were more than welcome to use my letter however, they might want to reconsider a photo since I am transgendered. At the same time, I told them if the fact that I am transgender caused them to change their mind about using the letter, I would understand. Well girls, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I got a reply back that said basically, Thanks for your quick response to our request. We are mailing the release forms to you and, as we are facing a deadline, would appreciate you returning them a quickly as possible. Also, Karen (the owner) would still like to see a picture." Girls, they didn't care!!!! I can tell you that they have earned my business from now on. (But I'm still betting that they don't use the photo.) LOL
Update: Well, they used the letter in the catalog but they didn't use a picture. :-( And I sent them such a nice one, too. :-)
By the way, the quick delivery was not a fluke. I ordered two new wigs on the morning of August 21, 2000 and received them on the morning of August 24. That's three days!!!
NEW RECORD! (Personally, I don't think they will be able to beat this one.) I ordered two wigs at 12:55 PM on Feb. 11, 2002 and had them sent regular delivery thinking I would get them by Thursday or Friday. Imagine my suprise when I got them at 10AM on the morning of Feb. 13. That's less than two days!!!!!
