Helpful Information about Refreshments:

For 20-30 people. First come, first served.

Refreshments can be divided into two parts, drinks and food. This is a good way to divide it up if you ask someone to help you.

Drinks generally are 2-4 bottles of soda, a bag of ice in a cooler, and cups.

Food is generally chips or pretzels, dip, and cookies. Napkins.

It is a snack, not a meal. It is not a competition, and you are not expected to spend excess money. No one is asked to contribute more than once a year.

Helpful Information about 2-Minute Programs:

Your SHORT talk should not be more than 2 minutes long, so that there is a minute or so for a few questions, answers, and comments. Please practice getting a few good points across

in the allotted time. (Don't read it just to get in more info.) You are welcome to organize your information and .jpg photo in PC format as a MS Word document, .PPT, and display, or demonstration. Bring your PC computer information on a thumb drive or disk, and we will be glad to project it on a large screen. Please include an 1. introductory statement of your topic, 2. details, 3. summary statement.

Your FULL Presentation should be about 20-40 minutes long, so that there is time for questions, answers, comments, and discussion. Please practice getting details in the allotted time. Helpful Information about reporting the Minutes:

The record of our club activities and decisions over the years has been useful to officers, members, and new members alike. Our elected Secretary generally takes the minutes, but occasionally a need arises, and we are grateful when a member volunteers to help out.

1. Please include date, place, the attendance list of members, guests, and children.
2. Detailed minutes are welcome. Underlined blanks for missed information is fine.
3. Please send as a MS Word document, and use the following format:
a. Font: Arial, font size: 11.
b. 5x5x5x5 margins work well.
c. Please do not use headers, footers, paragraphing, or other special layouts.
d. Label the minutes at the top, and name the file using YYYYMMDDACAYIMin,
where event occurred Y=year,M=month,D=day, ACA= Astronomy Club Augusta, YI=Your Initials, Min=Minutes.
Example: 20120629ACAKBMin.doc = June 29, 2012 ACA minutes taken by Kenneth Beard.
