Ansley's Medical Update
Hi my name is Ansley and I suffer from a Genetic Disorder called Cystic
Fibrosis...CF for short...I also have Cerebral Palsy, cortical blindness, brain damage,
epilepsy and diabetes, Protein C deficiency....I am now 10 yrs old
.....My family has always been here for me
and I could not face my life without them...All I have to do is look
around and I can see so many people who care about me and my family..
I would love to tell you the story about MY ANGELS, if you would care to hear about them.
After I was born I was immediately taken to emergency surgery for a constricted colon and spent many weeks recovering before I could go home to be with my family. Well I never realized how expensive it is for a little girl to be so sick at birth the cost was not only taxing in money but in time as well.
That's when I found out just how much I was loved...... My Aunt Janice went straight to work trying to raise money for my medical needs not covered by my
Daddy's insurance company, who by the way have been just wonderful, Aunt Janice began having yard sales, candy sales, auctions and any thing else she could do to help
me and my family. As time went on I found I could not see all the loving people around me, see I am almost blind too, but I sure recognized their voices, I couldn't help but smile when I heard them talk. Well before long I was in surgery again, boy how I did not like that!, but it had to be done, each time it took longer and longer to get to go home to be with my big sister Brittany.
After a while of being with the wonderful nurses and doctors at Egleston Children's
Hospital, I thought I would never get back home. But my family kept the faith and My Angels started coming together. Before I knew it I would need special equipment to ride around in, such as a handi-capped van with a special chair and a special lift, but this cost a lot of money that the insurance would not cover. My Mommy and Daddy worried about how we would get it, but again my Aunt Janice went to work on it, She along with my Grandmother and Grandfather
and many uncles, aunts, and cousins, put together the first Ansley Powell Golf Tournament, It was such a great success that it raised enough money to make a down payment on my very own van, then the next year She did it
again and raised enough money to payoff the van. Another tournament raised enough money to pay a large portion of the cost of a special lift for me, I was so proud when the Kroger Corporation paid the remainder of the lift off (another Angel joined the band). Around this time my Daddy got
transferred to Miami Florida, where I was carried to Joe Dimazio Children's Hospital, where I must be
famous, cause they have a security Guard on every floor so that no one can get to myself or the other children on the floor. The Doctors and Nurses have just been wonderful to me. I would just like everyone to know how lucky I feel to have so many people who care about me and love me so much. My Aunt Janice and her Angels are planning to have this golf tournament every year to help me and other children like me, there are so many out there that don't have a band of Angels on Earth to help them so I want to share mine..........So please, please pray for my Angels so they can help me and others like me, Thank You, Miss Ansley Powell

Buford, Georgia. This course in great shape, and offers a challenge to all players, the course management are ready for us and we look

months, but she is back home in her bed now and doing great. Be sure to go to
