True love and peace of mind There's a chance that maybe I can reach my goal And soar to the other side Good things come to those who wait I'm just afraid that I might sit here and wait too late. |
People tend to possess their Dreams and their Realities.A wealthy
man possesses his car,a boy possesses his girl-friend,a small child possesses
any trinket gifted to him.Any loss of this thing brings "Pain" to us beyond
consideration. We easily live under the "Maya","Yeh Mera Hai".It is basically
this notion of ours, that brings us suffering. Now,Imagine this,You are gifted
a very beautiful and expensive crystal art-work.(Already u start "imagining"
that "Yeh Mera Hai".Now suddenly you are asked to break it.This brings
tremendous pain to you,to see "Your" thing being destroyed. Thus the material
world is a product of maya, just as the body is.
When the material world manifests, the living entities who do not wish
to acknowledge the authority of the Supreme Lord are given a chance in
the material world to pretend to be what they are not. To accommodate their
countless desires, maya manifests 8,400,000 species of life. The living
entity in the body of one of these species comes under the control of maya
because the body, being matter, acts according to maya's laws
According to many, science is not the truth but an attempt to create an
artificial world of models and laws that could explain the real world as
perceived by us. Science is a serious materialistic approach to know the
truth.Attitude towards science in the 20th century has changed from God
like worship to extreme skepticism.
Nothing
is more familiar to us than time, yet nothing is more unknown. We
all know that time exists, that it surrounds us, and that it constantly
passes by, but exactly what time is has remained an unknown secret to most
of mankind. We will even proudly claim it to be "our time," as if it were
our creation or our possession, not realizing that we are its servants. We
cling to those flickering opportunities that our short life span offers
to pursue some temporary satisfaction of our thirst for happiness. We keep
running like mad after the oasis in a mirage, castles made of sand, and
the gifts of Santa Claus. But the illusion of this material world will never
quench the spiritual thirst of the soul. Invisible shackles. Prison without
bars.
Now let me try to explain this
by another concept,The Peak
Valley
Illusion.(An
idea often heard about in
Neural Networks) .In order to find an
optimal solution I move on a function
so that i reach its minima or maxima.
Essentially I try to find a solution with
minimum error or maximum fitness.But
as we know a function may not have
just one minima(valley).but may have
many valleys. Our search is for the best
solution and hence for the lowermost valley.
But if while searching if I reach valley A,
how can I be sure that there is no valley B
lower than valley A,and if there is how do
I proceed towards it?This problem is quite
often stated as getting stuck to a local
minima. In fact, our life is also a search for
a Global minimum and in the way we
encounter many local minimums.
If Life is a "Maya",then what is Real. What is exactly the Threshold between the virtual and the real.
What we consider as reality is only perception of our brain. "Rock","Pop" or "Jazz" is something that exists inside our brain and outside it, they all are air waves. In a dark empty discotheque there are flashing lights beaming through the room along with loud beats. But, there is no one inside to interpret those electromagnetic and air waves as light and sound.Just like you can perceive a rainbow but never measure it.
What
is so real about reality. Are colours real? Are sounds real? Is touch real?
or are smells real?Colours, sounds, smells and touch are all one requires
to appreciate the world around him. ..but what is so real about them?.
Colour or infact vision is something that exists only within our brains
and outside it they are just electromagnetic waves. It is only our brain
that interprets them as colours or a sight after they are received at the
sensors within our eyes. In a closed room with nobody around, a glass mirror
breaks. Was there any sound?.No, there was none because there was no human
brain around to interpret those air waves as sound. Same is the case with
smells and touch. So finally what is reality is just a creation of our
own brain. It is because our brain interprets some physical happenings around
in a certain manner ( such as the colour red) that we form a reality for
ourselves. A classic example of how perception of reality might change
is that of handicapped people. Blind or deaf will have a different definition
of what they call as reality because their brain either due to receiving
or interpretation problems, cannot interpret certain waves around them
that we can.
"Just a dream", that's
what I feel life is all about. All the time your senses are getting manipulated
in a certain way to create this huge illusion called life around you.
It all makes me wonder if my brain is playing a game (of life) with me
making me indulge in the act of illusion (Maya)
using electrical signals.
