News Update (November 5th, 1999):

Looks like TLC Tour is picking up a little bit more, and more fans are coming out to see them. There were rumors that TLC seemed distant on stage because of the allegations in the EW magazine, but they arn't, they loveing every minute of the tour.
Like T-Boz once said, "When we get on stage, can't fight that, it's a TLC Thang, we belong together!"
So TLC is just fine. But seems like Destiny Child and K-ci and JoJo arn't having trouble staying on the tour and doing there perfomances. I wonder why? People were getting mad and asking for refunds, there were long lines cause they bailed out at the last minute. Don't Blame TLC, but I just hope that they stay on for the rest of the tour. DC and Christina is slated for the TLC 2000 Tour, so don't worry! Mark Nelson I hear has been doing his thing very well, especially for the ladies. More News coming soon...

Here is another CONCERT REVIEW of the Fan Mail Tour:

FAN PLEASERS: Even with no-shows, TLC, opening acts make it a big night

If you were part of the crowd of 5,000 in VanAndel Arena Wednesday night, exhaustion is what you should feel today. Not only from dancing right out of your chair but from the high-energy performance on stage by the once-again chart-topping TLC.

Flowing through an incredible 20-song set, TLC -- the best-selling female trio recording artists ever -- has always been a tough act to follow. And now, with its current FanMail Tour going so well, TLC is the headliner so no one has to follow this big-time act.

Music and fashion trendsetters, TLC played hard and whizzed through several typical futuristic costume changes in line with its well-known sex appeal.

To start the show for the not-even-half-full arena, TLC rose up on a platform from under the stage and just stood for a moment to bask in fan frenzy before breaking out in song. TLC clearly had everyone's attention.

From there it just got bigger and better, including "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Friends" and "Baby, Baby, Baby." Songs were a mix of current hits and older ones, and scenes from past videos flashed nearby on a big screen. Next, the crowd rocked to "Creep," "Red Light Special" and "Waterfalls." As most expected, the show closed with the current hits "Silly Ho" and "Unpretty" plus "Shout," and Left Eye's "Crazy."

As the title FanMail Tour implies, TLC's show is intended to say thanks, especially to fans who stuck with the three stars when they were no longer on the charts. Midway through the set, during one of Chilli's solo moments, she invited fan John Smith, 22, of Grand Rapids up out of the audience to accompany her on stage for a personal serenade. "I'm in love with her now," he said of the experience.

Fans truly were front and center. A few lucky fans chosen randomly got to sit in special reserved seats in a pit right in the middle of TLC's oval-shaped stage.

John Smith wasn't the only delighted guest on stage. "I was real nervous, but they were real nice, real cool," says Nakisha Gilliam, another of the few lucky fans invited on stage.

With a CD and tour titled FanMail, giving back to the fans was the priority of the night. "They're the greatest," says Chilli.

It's that down-to-earth, humble demeanor that really makes TLC stand out above the rest. "This project is like a big 'thank you' to (our fans) for being there through the thick and the thin" declared an earnest Chilli.

TLC's music, backing band, the stage set, the dancers and choreography . . . all were extraordinary. And the opening acts weren't half steppin' either.

News Update (October 26th, 1999):

Here is another review of the Fan Mail Tour, seems like, TLC is getting better, but they need to get rid of the long boring gaps in between costume changes, and what's why Left Eye and her bad juggling? Is she doing it on purpose? Only time will tell.

News Update (October 11th, 1999):

As the T and the L of Atlanta pop trio TLC (right) wound up rehearsals Saturday at Lakewood Amphitheater for their first headlining tour, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas sat in the seats. But no, another TLC member isn't hinting at going AWOL. It's just that during the run-through Buzz was allowed to sit in on, a visibly healthy and spirited Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins cheered her group on from the audience of about 15, which included rapper Mack 10.

Meanwhile, on the futuristic $1.5 million set (think "No Scrubs" video), Watkins and Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes, their five-member band and dancers performed their engaging, hits-heavy ("Unpretty," "Waterfalls") show with only one noticeable problem: The microphone headsets they were using for the first time.

It's not supposed to be hitting my lip, right?" asked the husky-voiced Watkins, who was having considerable difficulty at first. "It's only supposed to be about an inch away from my mouth?"

Lopes also asked about the microphone.

"Well, I've got a big mouth," she added with a laugh.

And the infamous fire starter (think Andre Rison) has a trick with a match. But that'll just have to be a secret until the group brings its tour home in December.

NEWS UPDATE(October 9th, 1999): Kci & JoJo will be appering on various dates with TLC and Destiny's Child, so look for them on selected dates.

Always Remember, if TLC is not already slated for a city near you, keep checking back here cause TLC Tour dates will be added!

After juggling a confusing variety of dates around for the last few weeks, the R&B trio TLC has finally firmed up the itinerary, at least for now, for the group's upcoming North American tour with Destiny's Child.

According to the group's management, TLC is now slated to kick off its first extended tour in almost five years in Ottawa, Ontario on October 13, and then in the U.S. on October 27 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The last announced date for this year is a December 3 show in Phoenix, but additional winter 2000 dates are expected, and pop genie Christina Aguilera, who previously told MTV News that she'd be a part of the outing, will now possibly join the TLC tour in January.
