Opened in 1991, the Southside branch, with the help of its boosters' organization, is opening doors to cultural events. Over the past few years, this library under the management of Beverly Sanders, has hosted yearly celebrations of Juneteenth and Kwanzaa. Ms. Sanders has also worked hard to maintain the largest and most extensive collection of African-American literature in the system. All of this, combined with the friendly staff made up of Ms. Sanders and Dorothy Morrison make for a fabulous asset to the South Georgia Regional Library System.
