Opened in 1990, the Lakes Library is proud of its diversity of reference materials, which it continuously enlarges and updates. Boasting a collection of 16,000 books, Branch Manager Maggie Castor is working to bring in the masses, one way or another. Each week, she reads to school classes, Pre-K through 5th grade at Lake Park Elementary, Clyattville Elementary, Clyattville Headstart and Children's Friend Learning Center. Homeschooling groups visit often, and GED students have found a great place to study Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6-8 PM.

Ms. Castor and assistant Betty Copeland offer contagious smiles to all and an enthusiasm about maintaining a collection that is fine-tuned to their patrons. This branch is a strong member of the South Georgia Regional Library team. Come in and see for yourself!
