Welcome to the Salter Memorial Library Home Page! We are a branch of the South Georgia Regional Library System. Located on Hwy 122 just two blocks east of Hahira's heart of town, and adjacent to Hahira Middle School, the Salter Memorial Library is home to 21,000 books with extended online access to the system's collection of over 130,000 volumes, a growing choice of videos, and the town's only public computers. And yes, we have Internet access! The library also provides a conference room to all groups and organizations who meet with library policies.

Opened in 1988, Salter Memorial serves Hahira's citizens, the personnel of nearby Moody Air Force Base, and the neighboring counties of Echols and Lanier. In answer to the growing need, Salter Memorial pioneered the first Home Schooling section in the area, providing books, contacts, and information, and hosting workshops on library skills and Science/Social Science Projects.
