June 3, 1998 *** Good Afternoon ~*~ smiles ~*~ ... It was about a
year ago, there was some blasting going on here on this mountain,
taking out some of the stone/rock part of it ... making room for a
new road. Thru the process of it all, there was an automobile
accident that took the life of an elderly man ... I do not know who
was at fault. But what I do know is, the family keep some nice pretty
flowers in the area where he lost his life. This past friday, May 29
- the was yet one more accident on the "new" road ... a car and a
pick-up T-boned ... there was a four month old baby boy in the front
seat of the pick-up. He died from injuries on Saturday. Yesterday his
funeral was held. And yesterday his family went and put a memorial so
to speak, in the area where the accident occured. Now I know you all
have seen things like this. But is it giving a message to the public?
It does to me. Makes me wake up and see that no one is protected
enough, that speed kills, the accidents do occur, that motor vehilces
are not exactly what is to blame for the death of our friends and or
loved ones, but most of the time, the operator of that said vehicle.
Yes, weather conditions do play a part. And yes, construction areas
do play a part. Then slow down. Big wow you got urself a four lane
highway, and you are super kewl and you can handle the vehicle, no
matter what the conditions are ... I DON'T THINK SO! And in all
actuallity, neither do you, unless it is you behind that wheel. Cause
when we get behind the wheel, most of us think we are all that plus a
bag of chips ... but we aren't ... so lets pay attention to these
memorials we see on the sides of our roads and slow down ... and I
pray that the next person, is not you ... ~*~ hugs ~*~
June 11th - this will by far be one of the biggest weekends of my
life ... for several reasons ... #1 is my son, Joseph, will be
graduating from high school, with county board honors ... what a
shocker that was!!! ~*~ smile ~*~ In the past we have ALWAYS had the
teacher to call us to tell us "the wrong" he was up to! Not the
good!!! then when we got the call this week about the boards scholar,
needless to say, it certainly iced the cake ... thank you Joseph, for
being urself!! Company starting arriving from out of town on Monday
... we have had a blast!!! We got some major "thingees" planned for
Saturday, then at 8 pm , the ceremony! Then to top of the weekend, I
will be meeting a chat friend of mine, bass-player and his wife ...
they are traveling to the southern united states to meet several ppl
and this will be one of their stops!! More on this meeting later ...
and so, I am off for now ... have a splendid weekend ... ~*~ hugs ~*~
