AN UNWANTED WAR WITH UNWANTED SOLDIERS
The tragedies of Vietnam
Was not the War
The wounds inflicted
By our own people
They cut deep, into our Hearts
Left us with, our scars to bear
No flags to wave, fist in hand
No greetings, ugly tones
No embrace, only empty arms
No cheers, cries of tears
No remembrances, only pain
Of a War, we once fought
Without, our peoples Hearts
May it, never be so
If we have to, fight a War
We never go!
Without, our people's will
With the will, to know
Freedom, is our friend
For Failure, is our enemy
If we lose, the will to win.
A Poeatreeman
The Greatest sin is not the War
The lack of Will to win it
For all is lost if we lose sight
of the shores we stand on
May one day be our's.

TRIBUTE TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED IN VIETNAM
UNWANTED SOLDIERS
To The Men of Vietnam
For their valiant efforts
No matter what their cause
You served in a place where no one won
Felt the pain of untold sums
You left your home and carried through
All the fears that came with you
To a land you did not know
Or reasons why it came to be
A price you paid for liberty
To do your best and hope to be
All you have done is not in vain
A life or a friend that you came to know
One that might die for you
Or someone that you lost
These Men of Nam who came to see
The blood that spilled was tears of pain
Sharper than a bullets sting
For on the front they were not alone
They had a front to see
Back where the flag waves
The fight had just begun
No bullets to fire only pain and sorrow
For you left us with an empty hope
No place to go and heal our wounds
For deeper were they when we came home
More brutal than the war we left
It's all too well who criticize
The men who Went this way
For if we fail to take a stand
Where will you critics be?
Not all is right when one must fight
I am hoping as we learn
When we do it is for the right
Of us to keep our Home.

DEDICATED TO THE MEN OF VIETNAM AND ALL WHO SERVED
THE MEN OF GRANITE
The Stone that Rises before them all
Were Men of Flesh before the Fall.
A Tribute of The Ones of Stone
Carved in Granite to show the cause.
A life once felt these Hearts
Now is lost in Men of Stone.
These Soldier's who fight no more
Only stand with an unknown cause.
In fields of lifeless still
To Speak Out of Why it Was.
Once on a Battlefield!
Where Men were Flesh.
Are we to be Flesh or Stone?
These Men of Granite will not come home.
A life, a tribute of the cause
A price they paid to be in Stone.
Is it fitting to the end?
To stand a bliss and see the end?.
Can We Not Make Peace Our Friend?
Carve a Monument To The End?.
Leave The Men with Flesh and Feet
Hearts and Minds not Torn Apart
These Souls Amidst Tombs of Stone
Standing in Fields of Granite and Stone.
Die Amidst The Baptism of Fire
Where Death is Hailed by Tributes of Fire.
Friend and Foe were Both to go
As Bullets Ripped, Through Flesh and Soul.
Leaving Both Friend and Foe
Shattered Dreams and Broken Hearts.
Fell as Each One's Life was Lost
Death Had Come To Quench its Thirst.
The Tools of War Gave Him His Feast
Is This The Price That spilled Their Blood? .
To See Them Turn From Flesh To Stone
For is Our Monument To Them or War?.
These Men of Granite Will not Come Home.
A Poeatreeman
If I could be as Hard as Granite
I would be less than Flesh and Bone
If I could assure you
My Heart and Soul are One with Them
You'll know I was not Steel of Granite
If you can see the tears that fall
You'll know there is a Soul in this.
A Poet's Note
War, has wounded my heart
Yet, I kept my soul
Love, has healed me
I am whole
Not in body, but in soul
For I have my wheels now
to get where I can
I kept my legs
never to walk again.

IF I AM
If I am but a picture
Then paint me as I am
If I am but a man, understand
If I am but a sinner
Let me say to God
If I am but love
I hope you will love me
If I am but human
Let me find my way
If I am all these things
Will you still understand me?
If I am God's child
He will not leave me.

ON THE ROAD OF LIFE
On the Road of Life I walk upon
Each day I walk upon a new one
To take me to tomorrow's viewing
To see what I will be like today
if!
I have learned from yesterday's viewing
For today will be my doing
So remember when you walk upon
To look ahead of the Road you're on
For you will know just where you're going.

SOME MISTAKES
Some mistakes, you can't erase
If you hurt the ones you love
Some mistakes you learn to take
If you listen to what is true
Some mistakes are costly too
If you pay the price for two
Some mistakes you learn from too
If you don't repeat them too
Some mistakes are hard to take
If you find you're not right
Some mistakes will take you down
If you fail to do your dues
Some mistakes will bring a frown
If your sorry for what you do
Some mistakes are a blessing
When they show us what is right
Some mistakes are best for you
If you learn from all you do.

A TEAR AND A SMILE
My words are my tears
My Heart can only be spoken
Not written in words
My feelings are yours
To be shared and be spoken
No pen can say the words I feel
I wrote this with my tears
only you will know what I feel
The words I've spoken with you
Come from my love
A Tear, a Smile will do.

MORE OR LESS
If you expect less you won't have more
If you expect more you'll get less
If you expect nothing you'll have all and more
If you expect! Expect nothing
For then you'll have everything
Nothing is more.

A QUEST FOR LOVE
I search in vain to find the one
Who will love me the way I want
Will I know when it comes to me?
The love I long to see?
For a moment it comes a whisper in my heart
Or will it be that no one's there
To share with me the love I have to give
Will I know when it comes to me?
The love I long to be
For will it be the love I see?
Has only eyes for me
Or can I know thee not too well
If I close my eyes to see and open up my heart
Still! not be blinded by thee.
Dedicated to Lori

WITH THIS RING
I bear my Love
To accept it would take my Heart
Place it within You
To seed a Love for two
For with this Love I give You all
To share a Love for two
With God's Grace Our Love will be
The love we share with He.

WHEN THE TRUMPETS BLOW
I hear the echoes of a call
once was loud and now seems gone,
calling back to be remembered.
Dare I wake them up at all
or should I keep them where they are.
in The Triumphs of the past
Where they're held in fond remembrance?
Dare I beckon to the call
of The Trumpets blowing strong
calling back for me to answer
or can I reach where I was
then on top of it all?
or will I fail and lose it all
with the Triumphs of before
or be remembered for my feats
Becauses I could not face defeat?
What purpose do I serve?
in this quest for going on
To come back once more
To Hear The Trumpets Blowing?
Will I serve IT or myself?
For do I have the strength I need
to overcome all I must
Knowing that I could fail?
But most of all to myself.
Do I have the will in me
If I answer yes, is it all I need?
For what is it that I want
To prove myself to whom or what?.
FIGHT
The Greatness of Oneself
is to Triumph over Evil
For Goodness is the Fight
You must Win
The Rounds are not Ten
it is Minutes to the End.

POET'S NOTE
THE CROWN
Oh how I would love
To recover the crown
It’s hard to regain
When life is wearing it now.

IF I CAN
If you can bear with me as long as He
Then we can stand with each other
Through all the pain
If you can bear a little while
To walk with me
We can take life's roads
Drive against the odds
To see all of life's winnings
Make the best of highs
If you can give us that chance
You will see I want you so
You'll know the love I have for you
Is deep within my heart
If you can take all I have
Place it against your heart
You'll find that you can bear
All the love inside.

MY FINE UGLY WOMAN
My Fine Ugly Woman, beauty is your fame
For the love you have , you gave it just to me
More precious than gold , your love was to me
A look into your eyes , a treasure to see
Oh how! to get it , is a wonder to me
So much I wanted it to be, To see My Fine Ugly Woman
With love in her eyes, is a treasured fate
I hope will be mine
To find all the good things ,work with the bad
To change not what is you ,only which is not true
To discover the woman , wake you to love
To open your treasures , find what is there
To share all that is good , some that is bad
This is what I have with you , the love that we shared
For a Fine Ugly Woman , I grew to love and care.

MY FRIEND THE NURSE
Thank you for all the years of caring
Each time you lift your hand to help
You add one more care to life
To hold me in your hands
To keep me from being ill
All the times you spend with me
I can not say how much I cared
For each tear would be my smile
To know I have someone
To care for my pain
God knows how much you've done
May He remember all your pain
In this life and in the next
For all your time you gave to me
When you lifted your hand
To take care of me.

THE BIRTH OF A POET
Born from pain and feelings of hurt
of a life that was not worth living
a love that was not given.
Born of suffering of peoples hearts
agonies of children's tears
of a world that did not seem to care
hope that was not there.
Born from a tear and a heart
as feelings gave birth to tears
tears awoke the soul to see
the heart it had felt for thee.
Born of a time that God had planned
to let me see the right of way
that I may know not all is bad
share the love that I may have.
Born of a need to know myself
share what I have come to know
that I may see your heart aglow
with it all the things you feel.
even if it's pain and tears
For this is what a Poet does
awakes your heart and soul to see
you are here indeed.
To feel all the pain and love
is to awaken the heart in you
maybe The Birth of a Poet too.

THE SHADE OF TWO FRIENDS
Two eyes to see, one soul, one heart
One light One dark
Two loves can be, no shade apart
Two friends, can see, each others heart
Not one is light, nor is dark
A Friend who see's you, as you are
One soul your soul, light or dark?
Two friends in a world, not a shade apart.

LOVE IS
Love is as gentle as a Heart
as kind as it feels
Love is as forgiving as your soul
as warm as you
Love is as generous as it is kind
as giving as God
Love is as pure as its tears
as tender as a Heart
Love is as caring as your soul
as giving as you
Love is as loving as its feelings
as willing to be hurt
Love is as soft as a Rose
as painful as the thorns
Love is as Loving to a Love
as it touches both our tears
Love is as willing to be Loved
no matter if it hurts or aches
Love is a Love only Love can touch.
Dedicated to Cammy
