Many people are blessed with a radiant smile
Hopefully it will remain for a while
Some have that precious heart of gold
These are the kindest people I'm told
Hopefully we never have to choose
We understand each gift is much too precious to lose
It is like having friends who are different from each other
You need not forsake one for another
Each person is a treasure their person their own
I would not want them to be anybodys clone
Our friends remain special, each in their own unique way
We might spend time together, perhaps not every day
While my best friend may not be so different than me
We still find there are things on which we disagree
We bicker and banter and call each other names
Every now and then, we think they are pains
Even if we get angry and go off in a huff
More likely than not, we soon forget all that stuff
Oh one might call to apologize later on in the week
Simply to say that it's your acceptance they seek
Never will friendships fail time's toughest test
We will always hold our relationship high above the rest
If you have perhaps lost a very old friend
Then maybe it is time to re-connect again
A card or a call doesn't cost much you know
Just think about how that friendship did grow
You know we are here but for a very short stay
Contact your old friend and do it today.
