Barry Pilotage Board records - includes lists of Barry Pilots, apprenticeship records etc.
Phillip Roderick has extracted the names of pilots from these records.
Board of Trade Enquiries into shipping accidents, losses etc. These are not necessarily all
Cardiff ships but relate to hearings held at Cardiff. In most cases they are either Cardiff ships or the
accident/loss happened in the environs of Cardiff.
I have indexed the enquiries on line. They are included in my index to shipping records held at
Cardiff. or separately.
Cardiff Crew Agreements 1863 - 1913 - the actual agreements are held in an outside
repository and need to be ordered in advance, but there are manuscript indexes by ship number which
record the names of ships, masters and owners, the years of the agreements and the official ship
numbers.
I have put on line the index to Crew Agreements, by name of Master.
Cardiff Pilotage Board records - includes registers of pilots licenses granted, details of
individual pilots and their families, registers of pilot cutters licenced, minute books of the Board,
apprenticeship details - covers the period from 1862 to 1950s. Philip Roderick has extracted the
names of pilots from these indexes. Some of this data is published by Glamorgan FHS.
