Um.......Enter?

This is Beth and I'll try not to bore you too much. *grin* I'm 16 years old and I live in Marietta, GA where I'm a sophmore at Wheeler - High - School. I am in the Wheeler Symphonic 1 band and in the Pride Marching Band where I play the bassoon (pretty good actually :) and flute (much better than last year!). The school year is going pretty well so far, I have an A in all of my classes, even chemistry! What's really pathetic though, is that my lowest grade is in algebra 2, and that class is so easy, and boring!! Right now I'm taking: World History (Which is actually pretty interesting, I think it's my most fun class this semester, not to mention that Coach Farmer is also pretty cool); SAT Prep (It's not too horrible, I guess, but it's so boring! All we do is test all the time; I'm glad it's a skinny!); Band (I have no opinion, I like playing my bassoon, but I don't like the way it's run.); Chemistry (It's ok, just really boring, at least now I'm understanding most of it since I switched teachers.); and Algebra 2 (It would be ok, [my teacher's really nice], but it is also very boring, and it doesn't help that my lowest grade is in there.). Well, as a lot of you already know, I passed my driver's test!!! So now I have my nice little silver Acura Integra (a 98!) that's new (well, it was a demo, but I think that still counts!) and I'll never have to ride my stupid bus again!!! *evil laughter*

~~WAIT: don't leave yet!!! Do I really have to bribe you?? Well ok, this'll keep you awake long enough to read the rest...~~

I listen to alternative music mostly and lately I have been really into Counting Crows, Garbage, Alanis Morisette, Alana Davis, Nada Surf (!!), Mariah Carey (sorry Lisa!), Backstreet Boys (sorry again!! :), the Cranberries, Aerosmith, Marcy Playground, Savage Garden, Collective Soul, and Green Day (YEAH!!!!). And the BEST radio stations are 94 and X. I also like Vivaldi and Beethoven. :) For books, I read about anything from Steven King to Henry James (if anyone's ever heard of him). Um...I like Anne Rice, I like to read about Ancient Egypt and mythology. Right now I'm really into Micheal Crichton and have read: A Case of Need (the best book!), Jurassic Park , Sphere (which I was very disappointed in), Rising Sun (It's really very good! I was surprised!), Disclosure (despite the subject matter, I think this is my favorite book of his so far), and The Andromeda Strain (which was also pretty good, although he didn't wrap up the end very well in my opinion). Now, I'm reading The Great Train Robbery and have borrowed Eaters of the Dead from the library. I've also been into Steven King, again, and his Dark Tower series. I'm finally on the last one, and contrary to most of his other books, these are barely disgusting, and are actually kinda cool I think. I think that's about it, but don't trust me. *smiles* I love hanging around with my friends, Megan, Lisa, Laura, and Janet. Very sadly though, Megan moved away. She now lives in McDonough. :( My favorite spectator sport would have to be baseball, and in baseball, the BRAVES rule!! I don't chat much anymore because of ICQ ( #5210465) and AOL Instant Messager (nickname: Gerich99) , but when I do, it's on fastball, the BEST chat room, with my friends: Leemur, Crabbie, Lua (Trekkie), Alter Ego (Isaac), Cowgyrl, Nicole H., Kandi Kisses and Big Daddy, Twinkie, Grandsalami, DJ2000, Sabre-Cat, Jeremy, TK, Lancelot, Smurf, Sportsfan, Vonnie, Ryan (Mikey), Travis and Cory, Fighter_56, James, and Lifer. If I forgot anyone, I'm really sorry. I definately do NOT have a good memory!! Just leave me a message, and I'll add you on. Thanks!

If I'm not watching t.v. or playing video games or something else worthwhile I go to the movies, a lot. One really funny movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But, Monty Python and the Meaning of Life is even better!!! They have these old men that are pirate accountants sailing around in their building!!!! It's hilarious! Even though I love comedies, I would have to say that horror movies are my favorite. I finally got to see Candyman and that movie is actually scary!!!! I was really surprised!! If you are a fan of scary movies, you have got to see The Changeling It's not scary scary, but it's really freaky. And it has a WHEELCHAIR!!! And not just any wheelchair, it's possessed!!!! *singing the Hootkins song* *evil laughter* *controlling herself* And talking about that, have you seen Children of the Corn ?? That is one of the FUNNIEST movies I have ever seen!!! *Isaac voice* Do Not Challenge Me, MALACHAI!!! Hahahahahaha!!! Scream and Scream 2 were pretty good, and I finally saw Poltergeist which wasn't that scary considering I fell asleep during what was supposed to be the scariest part *yawn* oh well. I also just saw Outbreak which was such a good movie!!! I'm glad I bought it!! (Have you ever looked through the rack at the movie store....in the horror section? It's hilarious!! Let's see....there's the Lawnmower Man and The Blob and lots of others! Janet and I were at Town Center (the mall we go to A LOT) and I was looking for a good movie to buy to see that night, and we took like an hour laughing over all the so-called "horror" movies!!!!) Anyways, I also saw Deep Impact which didn't have much of a plot/story line, but it was so sad. I cried and cried. I think I may be getting more sensitive, I mean, I even cried at Mulan which I also just saw. But at least I haven't gotten as bad as Laura! In Driver's Ed, we saw this video where this kid got into a car accident and died. I mean, it was sad and all, but this is one of those corny movies where they try to show you something horrible so that you'll take driving seriously, and she CRIED! Crystal and I were laughing so hard, but Laura was crying....I just don't get you Laura. :) Lately, I have also seen: Ever After, Dr. Doolittle ('cause Mafia wasn't playing anymore), and Saving Private Ryan. Awhile ago I saw The Truman Show which was actually pretty good....I wouldn't mind seeing it again....which I did actually, with Ophelie, and then we got to go to Seaside, Florida where it was filmed!!

Well, Ophelie's stay went pretty well, I think. We went to Six Flags and White Water and bowling, and even putt-putt golf, which she really enjoyed :) And, as you may have already noticed, we went to New Orleans and took her around the French Quarter, and then to Gulf Shores, Florida, near Denton. And she REALLY enjoyed that! I liked it too, the day we got there anyways, 'cause after about, oh let's say, 5 hours in the sun, I was burnt to a crisp and could hardly move. It also didn't help that I was wearing a black bikini and it made the sunburn around my legs and stomach and back even worse. Well, anyways, hopefully next year I'll get to go visit her in La Madeliene, France, and see what it's like to live there. But next summer's going to be pretty busy. My mom got a teaching job in London for five weeks, and I'm also planning to go with my friend, Caroline, to Germany (where my relatives are) and Hungary (where her relatives are). I'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Well, school's officially started. I can't say that I was ready for school, but I was starting to get an tiny bit bored. School will at least be something to do, and I'll get to see my friends more often, and that's a big plus side. I got my schedule, and for once it's absolutely perfect! Nothing is mixed up, nothing is missing, and I have English second semester!! That's really good because I haven't finished my summer reading yet. I finally finished Le Morte D'Arthur but, I've only done the first three scenes of Julius Caesar . I got Pride and Prejudice done in two days, though! I was so proud of myself. I don't really mind reading the books, it's just all the notes we have to take that makes it so long and boring. I also got my locker, which is really easy to find, right on the corner. It only has three downsides (which outnumber the upsides):

1. It's a bottom locker

2. The thing that opens it is broken.

3. It's in the crowdest part of the hallway

It turns out, too, that they won't fix it 'cause they say that it's not broken. It did open a couple of times, but I'm afraid to put anything in it 'cause what if it starts not opening again? So my buddy Allison is letting me share her locker :)

Well, football season is almost finally over! Only one more game since we didn't make it to playoffs--but what would you expect? We only won 2 games all season! Too bad too, because last year we won practically every game and were state champions. Talking about champions.....we won our marching band competition! Grand champions of 23 bands!! Everybody was really excited! And, I finished my research paper, all the finishing touches and everything. Sorry I don't have a link going directly to it, I didn't have time for that little extra luxury :)
