I can still remember that very day, I was in the eighth grade at the time and I was at lunch walking around with my friends. We were walking by the music room and the school band was getting ready to warm up, but the percussionist were ready and they were playing some music and beats that stopped me dead in my tracks because I thought it was that good. I looked at my friend who was a trumpet player already in the band, I told he had to help me get in. I had to take private drum lessons to catch up to already three years worth of experience ahead of me, luckily my ability to learn fast put me ahead of them with all the hard work and practice I put into it. When I got into high school I was introduced to the marching band world and my dedication lead me into the drumline which was the best thing that ever happened to me. I have never had so much fun in my life traveling with my second family which is what I liked to look at it as the band was like a family. But of course the drumline shared a special bond, 12 brothers and 1 sister who all shared the passion to play music and dedicated themselves to it.
