Teacher Script
The following instructions should be helpful
to you as you guide your students through the process portion of the WebQuest.
Feel free to make any modifications as you run through the process!
1. This will be the basic introduction where you will
tell the students they will be creating a presentation based on one of the
systems of the human body. Here you will tell them your expectations
as well as the directions and responsibilities of each group. You will also
explain to students that groups will be randomly selected by picking numbers
out of a hat. Those students with like numbers will be working together.
Also, the number selected also determines what body system the group will
be working on.
2. At this stage, you will want to suggest that group
members divide up the responsibilities and take on a particular role. You
will want to encourage students to consider their strengths and weaknesses
when selecting their roles. Hopefully, students will take on a task they
can handle and have some degree of success.
3. Once the students have selected their roles, tell them
it is time to get to work. Make them aware of the time constraints and set
a presentation date for each group. I think the students work better when
they know when the deadline is. Also, you want to show the students the different
websites you have provided for them (this may depend on how computer literate
your students are). Tell them to use their time wisely!
Once the students know what is expected
of them and they get rolling along, there is not much you have to do as the
facilitator. Monitor student progress and answer any questions they may have
and you should have very creative and interesting projects!
