Hello perspective ensemble members, Let me start off by saying that we are very excited about starting an independent indoor drumline for the teenage students of local Horry County. The mission of this ensemble is the education and growth of the local percussive talents during the off-season of marching band. Through playing with other performers in the area, and getting further instruction by experienced percussionists, all of the involved students will gain a better understanding of musicianship and teamwork. This packet is a basic outline of what this ensemble will require of you. It will be absolutely necessary for all people to attend all rehearsals and performances. The ensemble will meet regularly on ( ) from ( ) to ( ) at ( ), and performances will generally be held on Saturdays. Auditions will be held on ( ) from ( ) to ( ) at ( ). Warm-ups in this packet are non-negotiable and should be playable at length. Auditions will consist of an individual audition as well as a full ensemble jam session. There will also be a portion of time set aside for the drumline to march. This will be the time for those auditioning on a marching instrument to show us you can move, and march together (so come prepared to sweat). The audition process will give us ample time to evaluate your work ethic and ability to play / march. We look forward to seeing a great turnout at auditions.
