SHELBY BOND spent the first seven years of his life in New York City. Although he spent some time in front of an Instamatic camera there, his real break came when, at age seven, he and his mother moved to Texas and she began running a television talk show. When a scheduled guest didn't show, she stuck him on-camera and he would tell stories or perform magic. He's hogged the camera ever since.
He finished high school and moved out to Los Angeles after traveling for a year performing all over the world with "Up With People" (don't laugh at him, he's sensitive about it).
Shelby also traveled extensively on his own studying the performing arts in Bali, directing youth theatre in Australia, going to school in England and doing print and commercials in Japan.
He got his improv training with "Theatresports" and enjoys a successful commercial career in Hollywood.
His last non-S&F theatrical production was the hit run of "20 Questions" at the Tamarind Theatre in Hollywood. In "Romeo & Juliet: Version 2.0" Shelby plays a constable, Juliet and an Elizabethan talk-show host, Gerald Springhorn, who does his best to temper the problems that arise when a Capulet and Montague take to love.
To prove he's a kind and decent person, Shelby travels around the country teaching improv and acting to children with organizations like The Boys and Girls Club and KidArts.
He's a Leo, he swingdances, is a professional photographer and in his spare time he enjoys dreaming up ways to make his bio longer than everyone else's and taking long walks on the beach with women who aren’t afraid to cry.
