Long have I waited to hear your voice
Was it your phone call that came and went, without much ado?
Delete it, I must, I had no choice
I am still waiting to hear from you
The silliest thing of all
Is that I do not know your name
So, if you will, whenever you call
Tell me who you are, so I know your call came
Now, the message left on my machine
Left me wondering and utterly in a daze
I wanted to cry and scream
Because, not a single word
Could be heard
Through the damned static haze!
